4th PASSIVE VOICE-EASSY GRAMMAR

The passive is formed with the Present or Past Simple of the verb to be + the past participle of the main verb.

Examples:
Meals are prepared daily.
The theater was destroyed by a bomb.

We use the Passive when we want to give more importance to the action and its object than to the agent of the action.

Example:
The letters were delivered late.

The subject of the Active verb (the agent) is preceded by the preposition by in the Passive.

Example:
The Normans conquered Britain in 1066. (Active)
Britain was conquered by the Normans in 1066. (Passive)

By + agent is only omitted when it is not important or unknown.

Examples:
Someone stole my handbag. (Active)
My bag was stolen (Passive)

PASSIVE VOICE
*Put in the passive form of the SIMPLE PRESENT tense of the verbs.
1.When thieves are arrested they are taken (take) to a police station.
2. The battery in my car is checked quite often and it is changed if it is no good.
3.Books are borrowed from the library on Friday and then they are returned on Tuesday.
4.Sometimes traffic signs are knocked down by careless motorists. If they are damaged, they are taken away to be repaired.
5.The soldiers in the jungle are supplied from the air. Food and other things are flown to them from the airport. Then bundles of food are dropped into the jungle from the aeroplane.
6.Sometimes children are drowned in old mining pools which are left in a dangerous condition.
7. You are expected to be quiet when you go in the library and are asked not to talk.
8.Is the new school finished yet?
9.Are football matches ever played on that pitch?
10.Are those fish sold locally or are they sent to overseas markets?
11.At the Olympic Games a gold medal is given to the winner of each event.
12.Huge crocodiles are sometimes seen in North Queensland.
13. Nobody is allowed to go in there.
14.That drain is cleared out regularly and all the rubbish is taken away.
15.Sometimes parcels are damaged when they are sent a long way. Occasionally some are stolen.

*Put in the passive form of the SIMPLE FUTURE tense of the verb
1.The robbers will be caught fairly soon.

5.Anybody who does not stop at the red light will be arrested.
6.If nobody claims the lost property, it will be sold at the end of the term.

9.There are two very fast runners in the next race. I think the record will probably be broken by one of them.

4TH-PASSIVE VOICE- INTRO 2

Passive - Use
We only use the passive when we are interested in the object or when we do not know who caused the action.
Example: Appointments are required in such cases.
We can only form a passive sentence from an active sentence when there is an object in the active sentence.
Form
to be + past participle
How to form a passive sentence when an active sentence is given:- object of the "active" sentence becomes subject in the "passive" sentence- subject of the "active" sentence becomes "object" in the "passive" sentence" (or is left out)

The Passive
We use the active form to say what the subject does. For example:
I speak English every day at work.
I repaired the flat tire on the car.
We use the passive form to say what happens to people and things, to say what is done to them. For example:
English is spoken here.
The car is being repaired.
We use the passive form when we don't know who did the action. For example:
The car was damaged while it was parked on the street.
The shirts were made in Turkey.
We use the passive form when what was done is more important than who did it. For example:
It was approved by Gerry last week.

WOULD

Would
"Would" is most commonly used to create conditional verb forms. It also serves as the past form of the modal verb "will." Additionally, "would" can indicate repetition in the past. SHALL

Shall
"Shall" is used to indicate future action. It is most commonly used in sentences with "I" or "we," and is often found in suggestions, such as "Shall we go?" "Shall" is also frequently used in promises or voluntary actions. In formal English, the use of "shall" to describe future events often expresses inevitability or predestination. "Shall" is much more commonly heard in British English than in American English; Americans prefer to use other forms, although they do sometimes use "shall" in suggestions or formalized language.

MUST

Must
"Must" is most commonly used to express certainty. It can also be used to express necessity or strong recommendation, although native speakers prefer the more flexible form "have to." "Must not" can be used to prohibit actions, but this sounds very severe; speakers prefer to use softer modal verbs such as "should not" or "ought not" to dissuade rather than prohibit.
Examples:

· Students must pass an entrance examination to study at this school. necessity

MIGHT

Might
"Might" is most commonly used to express possibility. It is also often used in conditional sentences. English speakers can also use "might" to make suggestions or requests, although this is less common in American English.
Examples:
· Your purse might be in the living room. possibility
· If I didn't have to work, I might go with you. conditional
· You might visit the botanical gardens during your visit. suggestion
· Might I borrow your pen? request

MAY

May
"May" is most commonly used to express possibility. It can also be used to give or request permission, although this usage is becoming less common.
Examples:
· Cheryl may be at home, or perhaps at work. possibility
· Johnny, you may leave the table when you have finished your dinner. give permission
· May I use your bathroom? request permission

Modal verbs are special verbs which behave very differently from normal verbs. Here are some important differences:
1. Modal verbs do not take "-s" in the third person.

2. You use "not" to make modal verbs negative, even in Simple Present and Simple Past.

· He should not be late.
· They might not come to the party.

4TH SECOND CONDITIONAL-INTRODUCTION

Second conditional
The Second Conditional is used to talk about 'impossible' situations.
If we were in London today, we would be able to go to the concert in Hyde Park.
If I had millions dollars, I'd give a lot to charity.
If there were no hungry people in this world, it would be a much better place.
If everyone had clean water to drink, there would be a lot less disease.
Note that after I / he/ she /it we often use the subjunctive form 'were' and not 'was'. (Some people think that 'were' is the only 'correct' form but other people think 'was' is equally 'correct' .)
If she were happy in her job, she wouldn't be looking for another one.
If I lived in Japan, I'd have sushi every day.
If they were to enter our market, we'd have big problems.
Note the form 'If I were you' which is often used to give advice.
If I were you, I'd look for a new place to live.
If I were you, I'd go back to school and get more qualifications.
The Second Conditional is also used to talk about 'unlikely' situations.
If I went to China, I'd visit the Great Wall.
If I was the President, I'd reduce taxes.
If you were in my position, you'd understand.
Note that the choice between the first and the second conditional is often a question of the speaker's attitude rather than of facts. Compare these examples. Otto thinks these things are possible, Peter doesn't.
Otto – If I win the lottery, I'll buy a big house.
Peter – If I won the lottery, I'd buy a big house.
Otto – If I get promoted, I'll throw a big party.
Peter – If I got promoted, I'd throw a big party.
Otto – If my team win the Cup, I'll buy champagne for everybody.
Peter – If my team won the Cup, I'd buy champagne for everybody.
Note that the 'If clause' can contain the past simple or the past continuous.
If I was still working in Brighton, I would commute by train.
If she were coming, she would be here by now.
If they were thinking of selling, I would want to buy.
Note that the main clause can contain 'would' 'could' or 'might.
If I had the chance to do it again, I would do it differently.
If we met up for lunch, we could go to that new restaurant.
If I spoke to him directly, I might be able to persuade him.
Also note that sometimes the 'if clause' is implied rather than spoken.

Introduction
The first conditional (also called conditional type 1) is a structure used for talking about possibilities in the present or in the future. This page will explain how the first conditional is formed, and when to use it.
1. The structure of a first conditional sentence
A first conditional sentence consists of two clauses, an "if" clause and a main clause:

4th SCE-FIRST CONDITIONAL-SPANISH

THE FIRST CONDITIONAL
Las oraciones condicionales tienen dos partes:
1. 1. la oración subordinada con if que expresa una condición
2. 2. la oración principal que expresa el resultado (si la condición se cumple o no)

Hay tres clases de condicionales, cada una de las cuales contiene dos tiempos verbales diferentes.
La primera condicional habla de las posibles acciones o acontecimientos que pueden ocurrir o no. La oración condicional comienza con if y va generalmente en presente simple, mientras que la oración principal va generalmente en futuro con “will” y describe lo que ocurrirá si la condición se cumple, o no llega a cumplirse.

If Alice works hard, she will pass the test
If you play with matches, you will burn your fingers

Tanto la oración principal como la subordinada pueden ir en primer lugar, pero si la oración subordinada va en primer lugar, hemos de poner una coma entre ambas.
If she likes the dress, she will buy it
La primera condicional puede usarse también para hacer sugerencias y dar instrucciones o mandatos. En este uso se puede sustituir “will” por un modal o un imperativo.
If you go to Rome, you might visit the Coliseum
If you need my help, call me!

La primera condicional expresa asimismo relaciones objetivas o habituales que son verdaderas e inmutables. En estas condicionales el verbo suele ir en presente simple en ambas oraciones y puede sustituirse “IF” por “WHEN” o “WHENEVER”.
If / When you freeze water, it turns to ice
If ... not suele sustituirse por unless. Unless tiene un sentido exclusivo (sólo en el caso de que …)
That dog won´t bite if you don´t kick him
That dog won´t bite unless you kick him

1. Grabar un podcast emulando un de radio.

20 ACTIVIDADES PARA PDI

20 ACTIVIDADES PARA PDI. ASIGNATURA: INGLÉS/FRANCÉS
1.Actividades tipo webquest, j-clic, crucigramas, etc. Permite a los alumnos trabajar individualmente o en equipo, buscar información en internet y poner en práctica sus conocimientos del idioma de estudio.
2.Con la PDI y la conexión a internet los alumnos pueden realizar en el aula actividades de gramática y vocabulario on-line. Les permite trabajar de forma rápida y la autocorrección de sus ejercicios.
3.Ejercicios sintácticos. Podemos trabajar el orden de las palabras (verbos, adjetivos) en el idioma de estudio. Pueden salir a la pizarra, escribir sus respuestas y conocer la corrección interactuando con la PDI.
4.Gracias al ordenador, el lápiz o los comandos de la PDI podemos explicar gramática y vocabulario, por ejemplo, en formato power point. Nos ahorra tiempo al no tener que escribir en la pizarra y no caer en la incorrecta posición de dar la espalda a los alumnos mientras explicamos.
5.En caso de que los alumnos dispongan de ultraportátiles, los deberes se podrían hacer a través de páginas web, ser enviados y corregidos vía correo electrónico.
6.Podemos utilizar la pizarra digital para mostrar las transcripciones de diálogos, lecturas y listenings. De esta manera los alumnos pueden seguir más fácilmente este tipo de actividades y al mismo tiempo trabajar la fonética y ejercicios de sinopsis sobre las lecturas.
7.Se pueden realizar exámenes y tests en soporte usb usando un pen drive, vía páginas web y ser corregidos a través de correo electrónico. Es más cómodo y rápido y evita el uso de papel.
8.En modo power point o Word podemos mostrar flahs cards para trabajar el vocabulario de la lengua de estudio. La visualización es importante para establecer asociaciones tanto en vocabulario abstracto como concreto.
9.La PDI nos permite trabajar sobre programas, películas, artículos de periódico o videos en versión original. Podemos tratar temas transversales y/o cros-curriculares recientes o pasados mediante la conexión a internet.
10.Se pueden realizar revisiones de las unidades didácticas o trimestrales antes de los exámenes utilizando tests progresivos en formato Word o vía moodle, con lo que los alumnos pueden entregar sus trabajos al instante y ver las correciones en moodle.
11.Podemos trabajar las horas en la lengua de estudio. Por ejemplo, con el Big Ben como fondo o mediante imágenes como “el te con pastas”. Los alumnos deben adivinar la hora y arrastrar las manecillas en la PDI.
12.Mostramos la imagen de una casa para trabajar el vocabulario relacionado. Las palabras correctas están ocultas; los alumnos pueden escribir y ver la corrección. También podemos dejar las palabras en la pantalla para que los alumnos las arrastren al lugar correspondiente. Es igualmente útil para trabajar vocabulario relacionado con las partes del cuerpo o palabras de uso cotidiano.
13.Podemos trabajar con google map. Los alumnos deberán buscar usando internet países de habla inglesa. Se pueden realizar actividades relacionadas con trenes, metro, etc, para simular la preparación de un viaje a dicho país.
14.Mostramos imágenes de caras para que los alumnos reconozcan los estados de ánimo. Se acercan a la pizarra, eligen una imagen, la imitan y escriben la palabra correcta, o la arrastran en caso de que las palabras ya aparezcan en la pizarra digital.
15.Los alumnos escriben un relato en grupo. A modo de juego, cada alumno, a través de su ultraportátil, escribe una frase conectada con la del alumno anterior para entre todos escribir una historia. Cada alumno añadirá una frase al relato.
16.Podemos trabajar temas transversales mediante artículos en internet. Por ejemplo, para el día de Halloween o acción de gracias. Los alumnos deben buscar información y hacer una pequeña presentación ante el resto de la clase.
17.Documentales en versión original –subtitulada, dependiendo del nivel del grupo- para hablar del cambio climático cuando tratemos en clase el vocabulario relacionado con el tiempo. Los alumnos buscan información en la red y expresan sus opiniones al respecto.
18.Tratamos temas transversales relacionados con el bulling, la adicción a internet o los móviles, alcohol, drogas anorexia. Los alumnos escriben sus redacciones y las entregan vía correo electrónico. La finalidad de este tipo de ejercicios es hacerles reflexionar y se conscientes de ciertos problemas actuales al tiempo que trabajan la escritura y aprenden a sintetizar y expresar la información relevante.


19.Con una imagen del pueblo o ciudad de los alumnos aprenderán las direcciones. En este ejercicio los alumnos serán guías turísticos y deberán mostrar los lugares de interés, dar direcciones a otras personas para llegar a un lugar específico o seguirlas direcciones dictadas por el profesor para llegar a un lugar. Los alumnos trabajan las preposiciones y los adjetivos descriptivos.
20.Trabajamos la fonética a través de imágenes que muestran la colocación de la boca y la lengua para los diferentes fonemas y palabras. A través de un diagrama los alumnos pueden visualizar la melodía y la entonación de cada palabra. Cuando ellos pronuncian su diagrama se superpone al original, así a los alumno les resulta más fácil corregir la entonación. Es un ejercicio muy útil para trabajar en conjunto y como refuerzo en casa.
